Is each piece really one of a kind?
Yes, literally! Every piece is wrapped by hand around a single stone that was found or chosen individually. There are no molds, no castings, and no production runs. When a piece sells, it's gone.
You'll find pieces we've said goodbye to in our Past Work gallery.
How do you identify the stones you use?
We identify stones to the best of our knowledge, based on supplier information and visual inspection. We do not conduct independent gemological testing, so stone names reflect our best understanding at the time of listing rather than a guarantee of formal certification.
What if a stone's exact identity isn't known?
When a stone's identity cannot be confirmed, we describe it by its color and character rather than assigning a specific mineral name. For example, a piece might be titled "Blush Fade Copper Pendant" instead of guessing at a mineral we can't verify.
Will the copper change color over time?
It will, and that's by design. I leave most copper in its natural, unlacquered state, which means it develops a patina over time: a gradual deepening and warming of tone that's unique to how and where you wear it. Think of it as a living finish. If you prefer the bright, new-penny look, a gentle pass with the jewelry polishing pad included with each order brings it right back.
How do I care for my piece?
Three habits keep wire-wrapped jewelry beautiful for years. 1) put it on last (after lotions, perfume, and hairspray), 2) take it off before water (showers, swimming, dishes), and 3) store it dry, ideally in the box it arrived in or a soft pouch. A soft polishing pad (included with your order) handles the rest. Never use liquid jewelry dips on wrapped pieces as they can pool in the wirework and affect the stones.
Do you take custom requests?
I love them! If you've seen something in the Past Work gallery you wish still existed, or you have a stone of your own with a story (I've wrapped stones my customers found on their own walks), write to me through the Contact page. We'll talk through what's possible with no obligation on either side until we both love the plan.
How fast will my order arrive?
Pieces ship from Washington, Illinois within [2–4] business days, gift-boxed, with free standard shipping and tracking on every US order. Full details are in our Shipping Policy.
What is your return policy?
Because every piece is one of a kind, all sales are final — we can't restock or remake what doesn't exist twice. Every listing carries detailed photos of the exact piece you'll receive. If your piece arrives damaged, contact me within 48 hours with photos and I'll make it right. The full details live in our Return & Refund Policy.
Is your jewelry safe for children?
The pieces are designed and intended for adults. Wire-wrapped jewelry contains small parts and natural stones that can come loose with rough handling, and pieces can present a choking hazard to young children. Please keep all Stone Veil pieces away from small children, and supervise older children if a piece is being admired up close.
